Purpose: PR mascot character of Imabari, a city in Ehime Prefecture

Appearance: Nondescript bird, large; with a “crown” (more like tiara) in the shape of Kurushima-Kaikyō Bridge; cloth

towel haramaki (belly warmer); purse in the shape of a ship.

Why: Imabari is known for “Imabari yakitori”, a unique type of yakitori cooked on a hotplate without skewers; there is also a

bridge there; and Imabari is known for producing towels and shipbuilding.
